OCAPH’s Inception

OCAPH was created in 2009 at the end of a USAID grant to strengthen civil society programs in Haiti.  It got its start by a group of grantees from the project who decided to continue the dialogue between civil society and government officials in order to lay the groundwork for an engaged citizenry.  OCAPH quickly gained in visibility after organizing several town hall meetings during which civil society organizations held discussions with government officials about judicial reform, corruption, agriculture reform, disaster management and budget tracking.
