June 1, 2016 – OCAPH Executive Director Karl Jean-Louis and Jean Claude Fignole, President of Cadre de Liasion Inter ONG Haiti (CLIO) met today with the President of the Lower Chamber Cholzer Chancy. The meeting is one of a series of meetings to present OCAPH’s Citizen Watch Program, supported by CLIO and partners, to members and commissions within Parliament. During the meeting Mr. Jean Louis shared his concern of the low approval rate that Haitian citizens have towards Parliament. At the conclusion of the meeting, the President welcomed OCAPH’s project, insisting that the Parliament needs to improve its communication with citizens and needs to be more transparent. The mission of the Citizen Watch Program is to create a more transparent Parliament facilitating collaboration with various local civil society organizations.
